Extending onCue

giving your XML Qbits to others

You have produced your own XML Qbit and tested it on your machine. Now you would like to pass it on to others.

check the licence

The standard licence (in on-line help and on aQtive web site) allows you to distribute customised onCue for demonstration purposes or for non-commercial use. Any commercial distribution, not just use that benefits you directly, requires a separate commercial licence.

However, note that aQtive's aim is to see widespread use of onCue as a development platform, so do contact us at development-partners@aqtive.com if you are unsure whether your use falls within the standard licence or requires you to obtain a commercial licence.

become an aQtive partner

If you want to deploy onCue in your own Intranet/Extranet or to use it to develop web-based services for others or standalone Qbits contact us at development-partners@aqtive.com for details on licencing and partnering. We actively encourage the use of onCue in commercial development and are looking for partners to join our vision of a network-enabled society.

deploy your onCue XML Qbits

In future versions of onCue we will make more automatic mechanisms for deploying Qbits either as additions or as part of customised onCue distributions. However, in this version of onCue, the user has to perform some installation as described in adding XML Qbits to onCue.

We suggest packaging up your XML Qbits, associated image files and your own documentation in a single zip file. If you are distributing via a web page you should include a link to the aQtive download page so that your users can obtain an up-to-date copy of onCue.

Refer your users to adding XML Qbits to onCue in the on-line help and to our web pages so that they can install your Qbits. If you wish you may rephrase this in your own installation instructions, but if you do you should also remind them to read the on-line help pages.

Don't forget to fulfil the terms of the licence - including informing your users that onCue is the property of aQtive; informing your users that additional Qbits are your reponsibility not that of aQtive; linking to http://www.aqtive.com/; and encouraging your users to register.
